Reflection

As many of you know, we lost another classmate this past weekend. It has caused me to reflect on the importance of friendships and of the many fond memories that I have from our days together at NHS. Social media has provided a way for us to all stay in contact and I am grateful for it. Although, my job has encouraged me to stay off of Facebook, its times like this that I feel the pull to be on there and check up on my friends. My wife and I were talking the other night about Brigham and she said to me "you know, your class was so close and connected, no wonder you loved high school." We were close, we were connected, we looked out for one another and we succeeded together. Its amazing that we graduated 15 years ago because there are times it feels like yesterday, it is also amazing to see where we all ended up, the careers we chose, the families we have and to see us come together again when we have lost someone. I know the past years have been difficult for some people, some have lost parents, brothers, sisters and even children. My heart has broken along with them and I am humbled to see how our fellow classmates have rallied around them and supported them. For Christmas, my wife had all my old HS videos converted to digital copies. I spent the majority of Christmas, reliving the "glory days" and watching my kids laugh at the assemblies, especially the Cardi-Males dancing or cheering me on as I wrestled or played football. I am forever grateful that I had the opportunity to know these individuals even though their absence is heartbreaking. My wish for my kids is that as they grow older and are in school, they experience the same things I did. That their school days, especially that of their high school days, will be some of the best times of their life. That they will have friends that even when years pass and life moves forward, they will always stay close. Much love, Charlie

Post Reunion News

There are a few things I needed to spread the word about in regards to our awesome reunion.

Joe Salmond is currently working on finishing up the reunion video, however, he has yet to receive any new pictures. If you would like to send in pictures from high school, the family picnic or the reunion dinner please do so. You can upload them to this main Northridge page or you can email them to knightsof1998@live.com and I will get them over to Joe. If anyone has a really nice group picture of the reunion dinner, please send it to me. We are asking that all pictures be sent by next Friday the 2nd of October. At that time, Joe will finish the DVD and we will get copies made and mailed out to those that have purchased one. If you wanted a copy but havent bought one, you can still buy one on the blog for $10.

From our records, we had atleast 14 people who showed up to the reunion dinner who did not buy tickets. If you were one of those people, please contact me so we can get things squared away. We understand with the excitement and seeing everyone that this may have been overlooked, but it is important that if you attended you buy a ticket.

With that being said, we are still and will continue to accept donations to our NHS Reunion Fund. We may be starting from scratch for the next reunion which I would like to avoid. Im thinking Vegas for the next one!

We will continue to keep the blog going and make periodic posts, so check back often. If we ever plan another event or a get together that involves our class, we will post that info there.I again want to thank everyone who helped, attended and supported Amy and I in this endeavor. It was a wonderful two days to spend with old friends and make new ones. I wish you all the best.

Go Knights!

Oh What a Night!

Well, we did it! Our reunion was a huge success. I hope that everyone enjoyed the activities and events. It was two nights of reliving memories and creating new friendships. It was so good to see everyone and their families. We missed all of you who were not able to attend.

We are working on creating a slide show of all the events. If you would like to send in some of your pictures, please send them to knightsof1998@live.com. We need a good copy of the group pictures taken last night. These pictures are DIFFERENT than the ones for the reunion video.

If you would like to send in pictures for the actual reunion video (even ones from high school) please send them to Joe Salmond. If they are from high school, they need to be scanned. Please keep in mind that Joe and his wife are welcoming a new baby today, so he may not respond right away. You can send the pictures to joesalmond@gmail.com.

The reunion videos are on sale now, you may buy them here on the blog. They are $10 until Saturday, August the 15th. After the 15th, they will go up to $15. We will continue to sell the videos until the end of August. We are hoping to have the videos finished and mailed out by the first part of September. Remember, the money goes towards future reunions. We will also continue to accept donations.

For those of you are Facebook, please join the Northridge Class of 1998 group. It will be a good way of keeping in touch throughout the upcoming years. It will also be a way to get information about any activities that the group does in the future.

Thank you to everyone who came, donated, bought raffle tickets and videos. We couldn't have done this without you!

Reunion Video

We have been working on a reunion video that is a compilation of highlights from our years at Northridge High School. Following the reunion, we will be asking everyone who attended the family picnic and/or the dinner to send in pictures/videos from the two days. Those pictures will then be added to the compilation to make a final reunion video that will be available for purchase. The videos will be $10 and you may pay for your copy the night of the picnic or online at http://knightsof1998.blogspot.com/.

Games and Activities
We have a variety of activities planned for all children attending the picnic. The activities are centered around a “Knight” theme. We will send the kids on a Knight adventure that begins with them becoming a Knight and ending with them “fighting a dragon.”

As the reunion staff, we would ask each classmate to participate in our raffle drawings or make a donation to our class reunion fund. In order to plan and organize future reunions, we will need help from everyone.

We look forward to seeing all of you!!!

Reunion News

It is hard to believe that the reunion is just days away, and I know that I am looking forward to spending time with old friends. There are probably many questions about the details of the reunion events and we hope to have those questions answered with itineraries for both nights that will be emailed(reunion dinner) and posted on here (family picnic). Please be sure to check your emails in the next couple days.

We also have NINE spots still available for the reunion dinner, so anyone who would still like to purchase tickets, just follow the link on the left. If you have any questions or concerns about buying tickets, please contact me at knightsof1998@live.com. Anyone who purchases tickets this last week, will have to use their PayPal receipt as entrance as we will not be making anymore tickets.

We are still looking for monetary donations and any help with getting prizes for the raffle. The ultimate goal behind the prize drawings is to raise money for future reunions as we started from scratch this time around.

Please continue to check back here for any important announcements throughout this week.

Thank you for all your support. Please contact me with any questions, knightsof1998@live.com.
